Noom Journey – Week 6

Still going! I’m pleased with today’s weigh-in as I haven’t been this weight in awhile. I did have a pretty bad weekend as far as food goes. Just wasn’t feeling it I guess. I keep telling myself tomorrow is a new day, and so each day I start over.

I still haven’t gotten over my sugar cravings. Mainly just craving Andy’s Frozen Custard, but haven’t really been craving cupcakes, which is sooooo good! I am allowing myself to have McDonald’s once a month and a cupcake once a month. I think that’s a good goal. 🙂

I’ve been trying to change up my breakfast and lunch so that I’m not eating the same thing all the time. I don’t have much of an appetite, so that makes it hard to eat something when it really doesn’t sound good to you, but you just eat it.

I’ve fallen in love with CauliPower pizzas! The crust doesn’t even taste like cauliflower and it’s a great way to fill my need for pizza! I’ve tried the Margarita and this week I’m trying the Three Cheese.

As far as getting moving, I need to move more. I haven’t been reaching my step goals and I just need to step it up (pun intended). So I’m going to work on getting a walk in every day around the neighborhood for at least 15 minutes. Going to start with 3 days a week and go up from there.

Noom Journey – Week 5

This past week was a bit harder. I didn’t do well at all yesterday, but I held my head high and continued on with today. Sweets are still my weakness, but I have yet to have a cupcake since I started this program, which is a huge win for me!

I’ve been testing out have bigger meals instead of eating snacks in between. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Determined to find what works for me.

Weight loss has been slow, but I’m okay with that. It doesn’t help that I already have issues with my GI system (meaning I don’t go #2 as often as one should), but enough with the TMI! 😂 I’m still trekking on, trying to get to that 157 by the end of September!

I did try something new today that I loved! It was Caulipower Pizza! It’s in the frozen pizza aisle and it was so good! Tasted just like pizza crust and it’s only 330 calories for 1/2 a pizza. Try it and let me know what you think!

Noom Journey – Week 4

This past week wasn’t easy for me, but I also didn’t feel guilty when I didn’t eat the way I should have. My sister and BIL came into town and I did treat myself quite a bit. From the amazing Mexican food we had on Thursday night (I did forgo the margaritas, so I was proud of myself), all the way to the pizza on Friday night, and frozen custard for lunch on Saturday. I didn’t make the best choices, but I did enjoy them being here and did limit myself on certain things. No sodas, only water.

As you can see from my weight graph, there have been a lot of ups and downs, but notice the steady decrease. I try not to pay attention to those ups and do appreciate the downs.  I haven’t gotten past 166, but I am going to step it up this week and work on only doing 2 desserts the whole week.

I was also added to my group during week 3 and that has been helpful. Seeing others struggling with the same things I am and seeing how they are working on them has helped me in a HUGE way. Excited about the next 3 months and where they will take me! Thanks Noom!!

Why Noom?

I admit, I was lucky and never struggled with weight when I was young. I honestly thought I’d be skinny forever, but then kids came and metabolism changed. Over the years I’ve tried different diets and programs, including Weight Watchers (multiple times), Beach Body, Nutrisystem, Keto, and the list goes on. They were never sustainable for me as it was a lifestyle that I didn’t want to continue for the rest of my life! I wanted my pizza, I wanted carbs, I wanted sweets (specifically, cupcakes)! I chose Noom because I wanted something to change my habits. I wanted to make a change that could agree with my cravings, but also get me eating better 80% of the time. I wanted something that was different from everything out there.

Noom helps you make behavorial changes rather than just telling you what you CAN’T eat! Knowing that I can eat whatever I want (in moderation), makes me crave it less! Does that make sense? It’s so crazy when you know you can’t have something, you want it even more. But, when you know you can have it, you tell yourself you don’t really need it.

Just like any other weight loss program, you log your food and weigh yourself every morning. You will have your ups and downs in weight, but the most important thing is to keep going! Don’t quit just because you gained a pound or two or because you gorged on pizza the day before, today is a new day to make great choices.

I also love the mini-articles you read on a daily basis and the little quizzes they give you. It’s a super fun app, and if you are a techie person, you will love it!

Have you thought about trying out Noom?

Noom Journey- Week 3

The first 2 weeks of Noom are in the books. It’s amazing what logging your meals can do for your brain. When you realize that those cupcakes you love are actually around 780 calories and your daily calorie budget is 1200, you rethink the cupcake. I like that I don’t feel guilty when I a have a few slices of pizza, because I know that the rest of the day I ate healthy, filling foods. Weight loss has been up and down, but steadily going down for the past 2 weeks and it makes me happy and proud that I’ve stuck it out for this long (2 weeks is long for me). I’ve already lost 4 pounds.

I’ve found a few of my favorite meals so far.

Breakfast: Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal with strawberries, Strawberries and Cottage Cheese, Peaches and cottage cheese, 2 scrambled eggs with Sara Lee Delightful 45 Wheat Toast.

Snacks: Grapes, pickles, Banana and peanut butter on bread

Lunch: Whole wheat tortilla wrap with deli turkey, pickle spear, and mustard, Spinach saled with croutons, mushrooms, and Fat Free Thousdand Island dressing

Dinner: Buritto bowls, Tostada with fat free refried beans, Baked potato with Fat free greek yogurt (substituted for sour cream), baked chicken

My free 14 day trial period for Noom ended yesterday, so today I was charged $129 for the next four months. That’s $32.25 per month, so not too bad to make myself some new habits and lose weight.

I will continue to post weekly about how I’m doing.
